She died in 1996 - 4 years old.
Rest forever in peace, my dearest Saga.

She was hit by a car in her very first summer. It happened on a lovely sunny day, and as usual the driver didn't stop to help the animal. With Saga's strong will, she managed to crawl across the road, where she lay miaowing as loud as she could. My dad heard her, and ran to find her. When we got her inside the house, we could see that a big piece of flesh and fur had been thorn of the inside of her thigh, and drove her to the veterinarian in a hurry. He just shook his head, checked her for broken bones, and then said there was nothing we could do, but wait and see if she was still alive the next day. I cried for her the whole day, because she looked so tiny and miserable! What happened was really sad, but miraculously she got back to her normal self again quite soon. Saga licked, and licked her wound, and in the end it was fully healed. She didn't even have a scar to prove what had happened.
Saga loved to sleep in my bed, together with me. Preferably on top of my feet, where she used to curl up. She even had her own little technique to get up into my lap, from the floor - via my wheelchair's foot-support, and then into my lap. She would always stay close to me, and whenever I was sick, she would be acting like she was protecting me from something. One late summer night she was hit for the second time, and this time she didn't manage to call for help. Saga died alone, and nobody sacrificed a single thought for her. She was a wonderful cat, and none can ever take her place in my heart.
I wanted to give you a little place on this page, to remember you. I miss you every single day, and it's terrible sad without you, my dearest kittie. Saga, I still love you by all my heart, and you should have known how much I would give to be able to cuddle you one last time... I miss you tremendously, and I wish you were here with me - now and forever.*
